I’ll tell you mine if you tell me yours.
This is an origin story. My first cup of coffee was God-awful. In fairness, it was not a cup. Barely a mouthful, and my young brain scrambled to pigeonhole such a taste sensation: Dirt, burning things, a tannic screech, and I spit it out lest I swallow such an unholy substance.
That was then, and how I got from there to here, where my days are begun, centred around the satisfactions coffee brings is beyond reckoning. I suspect you may have a similar story and matching fascination. If so, welcome to Bean Indigo, a testament I have begun numerous time, but never fully launched until now.
My hope is that my stories will resonate, and you will join me in the exploration.
I will use this venue to document coffee news and discoveries, to post suppositions, reviews of experiences with diverse coffee varietals and blends, explore production and preparation processes and equipment in the hopes that we both can advance our quest for the perfect cup.
The content areas include:
- Coffee History
- Production
- Preparation
- Equipment
- Reading
- Socializing, and
- Wellness
Along the way, please contribute. In its universality, coffee is a highly individual communion. Appreciation is subjective. But with a common language and a sharing of insights and access points, I suspect we can build a community of like mind.
The Origin Story and the Rules of the Road
I don’t know that there are any, with the exception of civil discourse and an expectation of common purpose. To my subscribers on this or any other platform, be kind to one another, and generous in your contributions.
